Silently I'll watch you grow,
But soon I'll set you free,
Sweet soul.
You are so small,
so big, so young, so old...
Go ahead little one,
I wait here to cheer you on...

Our love's a place where I no longer live;
That was a home, and now is just a house.
I went back in my heart the other day,
But nothing in there struck me as my own.
Strange how life moves on, and what we cherish
Turns to something alien in our hands.
And later, when we try to comprehend it,
It fades into the twilight of our tears.
I woke again upon a sunny morning,
Alive to what I hoped would be a song.
You were yesterday, which I remembered
As though it was decades ago.

Mark Guillan
"You have arrived
and safely,
long awaited miracle,
precious bundle
lying in my arms,
your eyes staring into mine
as though asking
what took me so long
to get here,
and I, laughing
hold you tighter,
press you near,
feeling you so infinitely dear,
so mine, sweet gift of joy...
my prince!
my heir!
my baby boy!
